Gorge Audio Trails
Welcome to the Gorge Audio Trails — a new way to explore the beautiful Columbia River Gorge at your own pace.
At the request of our disabled experts, along each trail, you’ll find small QR codes on signs that unlock location-based audio stories and helpful trail information right from your phone.
Stories along the 11 trails feature local experts, Native elders, historians, and other various community members, covering a wide variety of topics including local Sasquatches, bird calls, town relocations, 7000 foot rock tidal waves, and more.
Our goal is to make Gorge trails more accessible so we made sure visitors can access important trail information including amenities, parking, trail conditions, distances, and safety tips to help plan ahead.
To make the experience more inclusive, the recordings are also available by text for the deaf and hard of hearing community as well as for easy translation into 100+ languages. The audio recordings are offered in both English and Spanish.
Whether you’re stopping to listen to a story, learning about the land beneath your feet, or simply slowing down to enjoy the experience, we hope the Gorge Audio Trails help you connect more deeply with the Gorge.
