About the Project
Accessible Gorge aims to break down informational barriers for visitors and residents with disabilities.
Disabilities affect most people at one point in their life or another, however, what kind of disability and how great the effect on the person, varies greatly. This is why we have made it our mission to empower people with disabilities by providing them with information on as many attractions in the Columbia River Gorge as possible.
We cover eateries, museums, trails, and shops and go anywhere between Troutdale and The Dalles as well as Vancouver and Goldendale on the Washington side of the river. We bring a checklist that was put together by a panel of local people with disabilities and us to measure, count and acquire most of the relevant information on-site. That is also when we take additional footage of the layout and accessibility features so users can get the most accurate impression.
